On May 7, 2023, driven by the urgency to bring attention to an issue that goes beyond the regional level to become a national concern, María Laura founded the movement "Arte Para Sanar/ Art to Heal." Her dedication and efforts culminated in a major national event: a music festival held at the iconic Movistar Arena in Bogotá. Over 30 prominent national and international artists came together on stage to share their art and their commitment to a greater cause.

 

This festival was not just a musical performance; it was a call to action for society, a voice that resonated across the country. With the collaboration of over 20 major companies and renowned partners such as UNICEF, Fenalco, Caracol Televisión, El Tiempo, and other media outlets, the event achieved unprecedented impact. During this event, alarming statistics were presented, reflecting the challenges faced by children and their families in Colombia. This reality affects nearly 70% of the population, a call to action that cannot be ignored.

The funds raised at this festival were successfully allocated to support the ongoing process of arts and values education for the children and adolescents who are an integral part of the Fundación Escuela de Artes Casa Barco. This event was not only a success in terms of fundraising but also a testament to the transformative power of art and solidarity in our society.
